Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy explains how you can cancel a charter booked with Côte d'Azur Boat Charters SARL and when you are entitled to a refund. It applies alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Standard Cancellation Windows

Rescheduling to a different available date is always free of charge up to 48 hours before departure, subject to availability.

2. EU 14-Day Right of Withdrawal

If you booked as a consumer at a distance (online, by phone, or by email, without meeting us in person first), EU Directive 2011/83/EU gives you the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days of booking, without giving any reason and without the standard cancellation charges in Section 1.

This 14-day right does not apply, or ends early, in either of these cases, both permitted exceptions under EU distance-selling law:

The charter date itself falls within the 14-day withdrawal period, and you have expressly requested and acknowledged that we begin performing the service (for example, by confirming a departure date inside that window); in that case the right of withdrawal lapses once the charter has been fully performed, and if you withdraw before the charter takes place you must pay an amount proportional to what was already arranged on your behalf up to the point of withdrawal.
You are booking on behalf of a business (B2B booking) rather than as a private consumer.

To exercise this right, you may use the model text below or any other clear statement, sent within 14 days of booking:

"I hereby withdraw from my charter booking [booking reference], made on [booking date], for the vessel [vessel name] on [charter date]." — sent to [email protected] or by post to the address in Section 6.

3. How to Cancel

Send written notice to the postal address in Section 6.

We confirm every cancellation in writing within 2 business days.

4. Refund Method & Timing

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 calendar days of the cancellation being confirmed. The pre-authorised security deposit, where already taken, is released in full when a booking is cancelled before the charter takes place; it is never charged unless the charter proceeds.

5. Weather & Safety Cancellation by Us

If we cancel a departure for safety reasons based on the official Météo-France marine forecast or a harbour master's instruction, you receive, at your choice, a full refund or a rebooking credit valid for 12 months — this is separate from, and unaffected by, the cancellation windows in Section 1.
